Easy and accessible inspiratory muscle training
resi IMT is a new, simple, and effective inspiratory muscle trainer (IMT) designed for patients living with respiratory disorders. Medidyne distributes the device in Denmark and Norway.
We are pleased to announce that Medidyne has entered into an agreement with the Swiss manufacturer of medical devices Anel: We now distribute the company’s inspiratory muscle trainer resi IMT in Denmark and Norway. The resi IMT is a training device designed to help patients strengthen their inspiratory muscles. It is particularly beneficial for patients living with chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD.
resi IMT works by creating a controlled inspiratory load, which activates and strengthens the respiratory muscles. It has a user friendly design, lightweight construction, and adjustable resistance. It is engineered to make respiratory muscle training easily accessible both in clinical settings and at home. Resistance can be precisely set between 9-41 cm H₂O, allowing healthcare professionals to tailor the training load to individual patient needs and progression.
The inspiratory muscle trainer is easy to handle, clean, and adjust. In other words, resi IMT offers a practical, robust solution for rehabilitation programs in both hospitals and home care. It is ideal for patients living with COPD, asthma, neuromuscular disorders, or other conditions where respiratory muscle weakness contributes to reduced quality of life.
IMT devices are designed to strengthen the respiratory muscles through targeted resistance training. It is a non-invasive training solution for patients with respiratory challenges. An IMT can be used for, among other things, chronic lung diseases, post-operative rehabilitation, and generally weakened respiratory muscles. The device works by creating an adjustable resistance during inhalation, which trains the respiratory muscles in a controlled, targeted manner.
Inspiratory muscle training with an IMT is based on the principle of resistance training for weak muscles. Just as strength training of skeletal muscles improves muscle function and endurance, respiratory muscle training can improve lung function and respiratory capacity. For patients with reduced respiratory strength, regular training with an IMT can reduce shortness of breath and improve exercise capacity. Ultimately, it can help increase quality of life.
